Staff Team: Stuart McAra

Stuart joined The Leprosy Mission Scotland in 2004 as our Area Co-ordinator for South and Central Scotland. Since then his role has expanded to take on responsibility for all of our communications materials including writing and editing this website, our Facebook and Twitter pages, our supporter magazine, Dòchas, fundraising materials and presentations used by staff and volunteers in churches across the country. He says his favourite part of his job is those rare occasions when he gets to travel to visit our partner countries to see first hand the work we support to bring healing & justice to people affected by leprosy. Back in Scotland it’s when he goes out to visit church and community groups to share stories of our ministry with interested people across the country.

Stuart lives near Edinburgh, he is married and has a son. He is a member of a church in the city where he and his wife are home group leaders and he is on the church’s missions committee. He sings with the exile band and in the exile choir. Occasionally he makes a poor attempt to play golf.
