Accreditations
As a reflection of our values to be professional and appropriate in our work and to value our supporters, volunteers and staff it is important to us to promote best practice in our work and in how we treat those who work for or with us.
By signing up to, or being awarded, the following accreditations we can demonstrate our commitment to these values.
Fundraising Standards Board
The Fundraising Standards Board is the independent self-regulatory body for UK fundraising. By holding members to strict guidelines on good practice in fundriaising they allow the UK public to give with confidence wherever they see the tick mark knowing that what they being asked to give in response to is true and fair.
For The Leprosy Mission Scotland, by taking up membership of the FRSB, by adhering to the fundraising practices and guidance produced and by participating in the self regulation, we aim to show our supporters that we take your donations seriously, that we are responsible and trustworthy. Each of our supporters has a wide choice as to which charities they wish to support, and we want to reassure you that your donations are safe and will be used as you intend them to be used – to fund programmes which help bring healing & justice; empowerment and restoration to those affected by leprosy.
Investor in People
Investors in People specialises in transforming business performance through people. They help organisations achieve their objectives by targeting their chosen business priorities. Their award framework is all about improving the management of and engagement with all the people that make an organisation successful. This in turns enables any organisation to maximise the potential of its most valuable asset, its people.
The Investor in People award shows that The Leprosy Mission Scotland is living up to its desire to value its staff and volunteers, taking their roles seriously, supporting them to be more effective, more professional and more appropriate in what they do to bring healing & justice to people affected by leprosy in our partner countries.
Healthy Working Lives
The Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives helps employers, employees and all their partner agencies come together to create a much healthier and more motivated workforce. Their Award Programme supports employers and employees to develop health promotion and safety themes in the workplace in a way that's beneficial to all.
By participating in the Healthy Working Lives programme, The Leprosy Mission Sscotland aims to promote all aspects of workplace health. We were awarded the Bronze award in 2010, and this was upgraded to the Silver award in 2012. Activities undertaken include raising awareness of health issues, promoting healthy eating, physical activities and environmental responsibility. The Leprosy Mission Scotland seeks to be a responsible employer, and to take the best possible care of our staff and volunteers, and HWL is one way of showing this, and of challenging ourselves to do it better.
