TLM Scotland Staff Slimming Challenge

NEWS FLASH: We Failed!

Despite a lot of hard work and deprivation, the staff team failed to meet their target by the date they had set themselves. In total they lost 56kg by the 8th of September, or to look at it another way, 2kg each off achieving the goal.

Thankyou to everyone who sponsored us. We will leave the sponsorship page open for a wee while in case anyone wants to sponsor us retrospectively. Some members of staff are going to keep going until they reach their target weight having seen the benefits of the progress already made.

NEWS FLASH: For a number of reasons outwith our control some members of staff have been unable to keep their attention focused on the slimathon. An executive decision by Linda Todd (National Director) and Alison McDonald (Chair of Trustees) has extended the deadline for the end of the slimathon to September. Please give the staff as much support as you can as they use the summer months to shed those extra pounds.

After the excesses of the Christmas season and with a desire to get generally fitter, the staff of TLM Scotland will be undertaking a sponsored slim-down. Starting on January 8th and running until September 8th the staff team will endeavour to lose 70kg between them.

ScalesAll sponsor money raised will go towards providing food and Christmas presents for leprosy in-patients at the leprosy hospital in Chandkhuri, India. A particularly apt project to support given the source of much of the weight to be lost.

Please sponsor them generously, your support and encouragement will help to inspire them all in their efforts. An updated weight loss total will be posted here on the 8th of every month between now and September. Sponsor the staff online or contact the shop or one of the staff.

As Director I want to lead by example and to encourage a leaner, fitter, healthier staff team as well as making a difference to the patients at Chandkhuri. Your generous donations will enthuse us as we "slim" towards a world without leprosy.
Linda Todd, National Director

Some staff members have a few definite ideas about what they need to do to shed the pounds:

Linda Todd
Weight-watchers has worked for me in the past so I'm going to use them again

Stuart McAra
I need to take a bit more exercise and most importantly try to cut out the sweets and other junk food eaten in the car on the way to and from TLM speaking engagements

Anne Love and Joyce Memmott
We are going to make sure we go for a walk every day at lunch time, whatever the weather
