Fundraising GuideThere are many ways that you can help to raise money for TLMS. We are always here to help you in any way we can SponsorshipGetting sponsored to do something silly, difficult or eye-catching is a great thing to do. Not only does it raise money it also helps to spread the word about TLM and leprosy to all your friends and family. You never know, they might want to join in or do something themselves as well. Contact Stanley for sponsor forms, we can also help you with posters, information leaflets, balloons and even temporary tattoos. To really impress your friends why not set up your own sponsorship web page (instructions) where they can sponsor you, leave messages and you can quickly and easily keep an eye on how much you've raised. All you need to do is email everyone you know to tell them what you're up to. The link opposite to the Staff Slimming Challenge gives you an example of how a sponsored event can work, including an online sponsor page. EventOrganising a concert, party or event needn't be as hard as you think. We can give you a few pointers as well as helping with advertising your event. Possible events include choir concerts, ceilidhs, pot-luck lunches, tea parties, battlle of the bands... Our A-Z list has many more suggestions. Sell tickets or take donations at the event to support our work around the world. It might be possible for us to send someone to give a short talk about TLM at your event, contact your local Area Co-ordinator for more information TLMS's Events Diary lists all upcoming events that are supporting us or we are taking part in. If you don't feel able to organise something yourself, come along to an event near you and support us that way. Personal OccasionMarking the major milestones in life is one of the things that brings family and friends together. But sometimes we just don't want more presents. Setting up a Celebration Page (instructions) enables people to give a gift to TLMS as their way of celebrating your wedding / anniversary / birthday... with you. Simply add the address to your wedding list or include in the invitation to your party so everybody knows what you want. Instead of flowers, a Gift In Memoriam (instructions) can be a much longer-lasting way to remember a lost loved one. And it makes a powerful statement about what was important to them and to those closest to them. Your Own Dedicated ProjectWant to make your fundraising even more powerful? TLM Field Projects around the world have specified particular parts of their work which individuals or groups can opt to fund. Many of these are only available to people or groups in Scotland. Projects can range in value from just £100 up to £10,000 or more. For each project we will be able to supply you with specific photos and stories to help you with your fundraising. Past examples have included a choir concert in aid of eye-surgery in Nigeria, a pancake day to dig a well in Chad and a village Christmas Card delivery scheme which bought a motorbike for a community rehabilitation worker in India to help him visit more patients over a wider area. The Staff Slimmers are raising money to pay for food and Christmas presents for the patients at a hospital in India. The list changes all the time so contact Stanley to discuss your own project. |
