FundRaising Standards Board Membership

As a member of the Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB) self-regulatory scheme TLM Scotland adheres fully to their recommended procedures and those of the Institute of Fundraising Codes of Fundraising Practice and the FRSB Fundraising Promise when fundraising.  (Fuller details of these schemes can be found on the FRSB website www.givewithconfidence.org.uk and the IoF website www.institute-of-fundraising.org.uk).

TLM Scotland has a detailed Fundraising Complaints Procedure which sets out the Mission ’s obligations to its donors and the above mentioned bodies.  The full procedure is available on request and is summarised below:

  • All written and verbal fundraising complaints submitted to the Mission will be treated in accordance with this procedure. Although anonymous complaints will be considered it will not be possible to investigate them in the same way.
  • All fundraising complaints will, in the first instance, be dealt with Stanley Bonthron, the Mission ’s fundraiser who undertakes the role of Complaints Co-ordinator.
  • Verbal complaints will be submitted by written report promptly by the member of staff receiving them to the Complaints Co-ordinator.
  • A Complaints Register will be maintained by the Complaints Co-ordinator.
  • All complaints will be acknowledged in writing within 14 days of the receipt of the complaint.
  • The complainant will be advised of the outcome of any investigation within 30 days if receipt of their complaint.
  • Written copies of the Mission ’s fundraising complaints procedure are available on request.
  • In the event of a complainant remaining dissatisfied with the investigation conducted and the explanation offered they will be advised of the Fundraising Standards Board Complaints Process which they will be encouraged to use.

TLM Scotland will strive to resolve all fundraising complaints to the satisfaction of complainants.

However, it should be noted that we have not received any complaints in the period in which we have operated this procedure.

We always welcome comments and suggestions regarding our fundraising methods and donors can confidently support the Mission in the knowledge that we maintain the highest standards in our fundraising on behalf of those affected by leprosy throughout the world.
