Developing Businesses in the Chittagong Hill Tracts
Together, The Leprosy Mission Scotland and the Scottish Government are supporting a vital project in the Chittagong Hill Tracts area of Bangladesh.
This project focuses on equipping the most vulnerable people, who would otherwise have very limited or, during certain seasons, no opportunities to support themselves, with the means to provide for themselves in the long term.
As a result of the project they will learn skills and form self help groups through which they will see their income increase to provide a less precarious existence, allowing them to earn and save money and vary their diet.
